Tension at Sporting Club: V. Gyokeresas Upset Over Breach of Agreement

The tension is rising between forward Viktor Gyokeres and the management of the Lisbon "Sporting" club.

As previously reported, the Portuguese club had a verbal agreement with the 27-year-old Swede that he would be allowed to leave this summer for around 65 million euros as a release clause.

However, now "Sporting" president Frederico Varandas claims that there was never such an agreement with the player's representatives.

"I can guarantee that we will not sell Viktor for 60 million euros plus certain bonuses. To this day, our club has not received any offers for Gyokeres," Varandas is quoted by BBC.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano adds that V. Gyokeres is disappointed with such club actions, which may significantly limit his options in this summer's transfer market.
