T. Tuchelis: 'We must learn from defeat, but we were punished'

The head coach of the England national team Thomas Tuchel commented on the 0:1 defeat against Japan:

"Of course it hurts. It always hurts to lose, and even more at home.”

"We were punished for one counterattack in the first half.”

"We need these matches, we know that this is a strong opponent, but we had several players who couldn’t participate.”

"It was a new lineup again, we tried many things and we have to learn.”

"We have to look at all of this from a perspective, as this defeat is not the end of the world.”

The England national team will play their next match on June 8th against New Zealand.

The World Championship will take place from June 11 to July 19.
