Super League presented a proposal to UEFA © JumpStory

Recently, the quiet Super League is raising its head again.

The tournament controlled by the company A22 has changed its name to the Unified League and presented its plans to UEFA.

Businessmen assure that a ruling from the European Court of Justice a couple of years ago has freed their hands to create new competitions.

According to the press, A22 plans to establish two divisions. In the first, which would be named the "Champions League," 18 clubs would compete: the champions of the top 6 European leagues, as well as the teams with the highest ranking in the UEFA table.

Meanwhile, the remaining important clubs from the UEFA coefficient ranking would play in Group B.

In the first stage of the tournament, teams would play 8 matches against different opponents in their groups.

In Group A, clubs finishing in 1st to 6th places would immediately qualify for the round of 16, while teams finishing in 7th to 14th would compete for the remaining spots.

In Group B, clubs finishing in 1st to 2nd places would advance to the round of 16, while teams finishing in 3rd to 10th would try to earn that right.

Organizers state that the decision to create two divisions would help avoid overwhelming results and better distribute teams according to their strength.
