The Spanish Super Cup final “El Clásico” did not disappoint.
After a very fierce battle, Barcelona defeated Real’s footballers 3–2.
The match got off to a somewhat slow start, but once it picked up, there was plenty of action.
In the 36th minute, Raphinha put the Catalans ahead, beating the opposing goalkeeper with a low shot.
During first-half stoppage time, as many as three goals were scored. First, Vinícius found the net after outwitting the entire Barcelona defense.
In the fourth minute of stoppage time, Robert Lewandowski also got on the scoresheet.
Only three minutes of added time were officially given, but more was played. In the sixth minute of stoppage time, Real youngster Gonzalo García scored as well, finishing accurately after a tense situation in the opponents’ penalty area.
The decisive goal came in the 73rd minute. Sliding in, Raphinha struck the ball, which deflected off Raúl Asencio and soon ended up in the net.
Towards the end of the match, Real seemed to run somewhat short of energy.
Frenkie de Jong was also shown a red card for a rough challenge on Kylian Mbappé.
In stoppage time, the Madrid side had two golden chances. The first was squandered by Álvaro Carreras, and the second was missed by Raúl Asencio.
Barcelona defeated Real in the Spanish Super Cup final for the fourth consecutive time.
