Students competed in the integrated football tournament 'KAUTECH Cup 2026'

On September 29, at the football stadium of the Social Services Department of the Kaunas University of Technology, students from the Social Services Department of the Kaunas University of Technology (teacher Vida Misevičienė), the King Mindaugas Vocational Training Center (teacher Rytis Rutkauskas), the Utena Vocational Training Center (teacher Lina Skladaitytė), and the Kaunas Antanas Smetona Gymnasium (teacher Jolita Gailienė) gathered.

During the last week of September, the "UEFA Grassroots Week" is taking place across Europe, where all football enthusiasts engage in football tournaments, festivals, and events related to this wonderful game.

The Social Services Department of the Kaunas University of Technology organized an inclusive football tournament "KAUTECH Cup 2026," encouraging everyone to have a great time together on the football field. Football is for everyone, everywhere, and always; this is the fundamental thing that does not exclude any of us.

"How wonderful it is to see that today football connects us all into one big family – here experience or opportunities do not matter, what matters is the unifying passion for the game and the smiles on the field! Today we prove once again that football knows no boundaries – it breaks down barriers and creates a space where absolutely everyone is welcome!" shared Giedra Sadauskienė, the head of the Social Department.

In the tournament, the first place was claimed by the host team from the Social Services Department of the Kaunas University of Technology, the second place went to the Utena Vocational Training Center team, and the third place was taken by the players from the King Mindaugas Vocational Training Center.

The tournament participants were awarded prizes established by the Kaunas County Football Federation, presented by the players of the Lithuanian women's national team, Milda Liužinaitė and Greta Valikonienė.

The national team players gifted all tournament participants invitations to the FIFA Women's World Cup qualifying match Lithuania – Sweden, which will take place on October 9 in Kaunas, at the Darius and Girėnas Stadium.
