The problems of Vilnius "Žalgiris" seem to be deepening further.
For some time now, the most active fans of the Vilnius team "Pietų IV" have been demanding the resignation of coach Vladimir Čeburinas, but it seems that the club's director Vilma Venslovaitienė is also in danger.
On Wednesday, "Pietų IV" shared a post on their Facebook page accusing V. Venslovaitienė of fraud and document forgery.
"Today's topic - VILMA OUT."
Every community must have its values and be guided by them. And by adhering to them, certain places arise where there can be no tolerance. Only in this way can one remain honest with oneself and other community members.
The communities of Pietų IV and ŽBV received a letter from one of the club's shareholders, Eleonora Kasperūnienė. After reading it, there was nothing left to do but think about changes in the club's leadership. We can be patient in matters of attracting new sponsors, growing the community, or sports results, but we will never allow people who find it normal to deceive others, especially colleagues, to work in our club. There will never be a place in our club for those to whom fraud or the other principles of 90s bandits are standard practice. In the photo, you will see an excerpt from the letter explaining the whole situation.
With the recent "unrest" in the public space, many opinions circulated that alongside the coach, the club's leader V. Venslovaitienė should also resign. In one of our posts, we highlighted several other problems the club is facing, and undoubtedly part of the blame fell on Vilma. But at the same time, she has significantly contributed to many of "Žalgiris'" titles won and had credits in our eyes. That is why we initially spoke only about current problems without delving deeper.
The first blow to us was when, upon asking the question "coach or fans?", we received a very strong answer - "of course, yes". It has always been said about the "Žalgiris" family, but it seems that we were thrown out of that family at that time.
The second blow was the entire situation. Here, dialogue is no longer possible because we do not communicate with fraudsters. We want honest and clean club leadership around which a sustainable and appealing community can be formed. Unfortunately, without basic principles of transparency, there simply is no way forward.
"Žalgiris" is not Vilma, and Vilma is not "Žalgiris". Vilnius "Žalgiris" is a community and people whose hearts are filled with love for this legendary club. So many suitcases have flown to the field that even the belongings of two people will fit in them. And if there are shortages - let us know, we will throw in more.
vilmaOUT," - it is written in the "Pietų IV" announcement.
Eleonora Kasperūnienė herself also responded to this situation, confirming that she definitely did not transfer her shares to V. Venslovaitienė.
"After 15 years - this garbage catches up from the drawer. A document that remained unsigned by the other party and was never valid - today "additional" is under another name.
Mindaugas and friends restored Žalgiris not for posts or money. They did it for Žalgiris. For Vilnius. When the club was on the brink of extinction - they rebuilt from scratch.
We trusted the management. We believed in the administration because the most important thing was that the club would survive. But over time we were pushed into the background - quietly but purposefully.
Publicly and clearly: under no circumstances would I have agreed for a part of the club to be transferred to Vilma Venslovaitienė. There was neither an agreement, nor a will, nor compensation. Therefore, it is strange and sad to see that this action was attempted to be justified by both the lawyer who participated in the meeting and one of the shareholders - knowing that this is just an old, unrealized deal.
What matters most to us - is what this club had and has: a community. Without it, "Žalgiris" would become just another company. And no one gives municipal support to companies for children's education, employment, or strengthening pride in their city - Vilnius.
The community does all this. It is precisely because of it that this club was restored. And only for it can it have a future," - wrote E. Kasperūnienė.
