Šiauliai defeated Riteriai away

The 20th round of the "TOPsport A League" started in the capital, where Vilnius "Riteriai" hosted representatives from the City of Sun. FA "Šiauliai," having gained an advantage quite early, later doubled it and celebrated a victory over the Vilnius team with a score of 2:0 (1:0).

In the 17th minute, during a quick attack, Meinardas Mikulėnas shot after a pass from Simo Civilka, but the attempt bore no fruit. Just a few minutes later, the guests organized a productive attack — Milanas Džokičius made a great run into the penalty area and scored after a pass from Eligijus Jankauskas. In the 25th minute, Leifas Estevez misled Danielius Jarašius several times, and the ball sailed over the goal.

At the beginning of the first half, E. Jankauskas posed a threat a couple of times — once, a kicked ball whizzed completely past the rectangle, and in another attack, the Lithuanian's attempt was intercepted by Antonio Tuta. In the 62nd minute, the situation became even more complicated for "Riteriai" when Milanas Rutkovskis received a red card.

In the 82nd minute, E. Jankauskas again raised the alarm near the Vilnius goal; the timely exit by A. Tuta extinguished the threat, but just a few minutes later, he made another long shot toward the goal area. The Šiauliai team secured their point in the 90th minute, with the author of the goal being E. Jankauskas, who had a great match.

After playing the 20th round of the "TOPsport A League" matches, the yellow-blues remain in 4th place in the standings with 32 points, while "Riteriai," with 13 points, stays in 9th place.
