Former France national team defender Samuel Umtiti has ended his professional football career.

The most successful years of the defender's career were spent at Lyon and Barcelona.

Umtiti spent five years at the legendary French club and six years at Barcelona.

Injuries overshadowed much of this Frenchman's career.

In 2018, he won the FIFA World Cup with the France national team, where Samuel Umtiti was a key defender for "Les Bleus."

In the last season, 31-year-old Samuel Umtiti did not play, and a couple of seasons ago, he appeared on the pitch 13 times.
