S. McTominay: 'They took great care of me at Man Utd' © „Reuters“

Scott McTominay, who grew up in the "Manchester United" academy and was an important part of the main team for several seasons, moved to the "Napoli" team in the summer of 2022.

Although most "Man Utd" fans were pleased with such a sale, the Scot shone very brightly in Italy. S. McTominay led "Napoli" to the "Serie A" title last season, while he became the league’s best player of the season and even made it onto the "Ballon d'Or" candidates list.

Marcus Rashford, who left "Man Utd" in a similar fashion, is currently performing solidly among the "Barcelona" ranks.

Football experts began to talk about the problem being within the "Man Utd" club, suggesting that players who left "United" have the opportunity to fully flourish. However, S. McTominay disagrees with this notion.

"I don't agree that the club is to blame for everything. It’s just an easy excuse for the players. It's very easy to say something like that.

Throughout my time at "Man Utd", I was very well taken care of. Both the training process and all other aspects are of the highest level, and conditions are created for improvement.

It's a myth that "Man Utd" lacks something that other clubs have. Sometimes everything just seems worse due to the amount of attention that "Man Utd" receives. Even looking at my last season there, I can say it wasn't as bad as many imagine. I scored 10 goals and we won trophies," S. McTominay said in an interview with CBS.
