Roberto Mancini says that his team has not been in contact with Andrea Pirlo, but did not rule out the possibility of trying to acquire this experienced player in January.
The 36-year-old midfielder left "Juventus" club in the summer and moved to "New York City" team, but now, as his MLS season has ended, he is linked with a return to "Serie A" competitions. There have been news in the press that the "Inter" team has already started negotiations for the player's loan in January, but Mancini stated that such reports are premature.
"It is not true that we have already been in contact with Pirlo. I have not spoken to him. Anything can happen in football, but for now, it's just rumors. The MLS season is already over for him, but I don't know what his future plans are and whether he would like to return to 'Serie A' for a few months. However, if he decided to come back, I have no doubt that he would be an important player in any Italian team.
Pirlo is a true champion. He is not a simple player and understands what is happening on the field faster than any other footballer. We always look for players with such abilities, as we have many strong midfielders in our squad, so Pirlo would definitely strengthen us and add variety," Mancini spoke about the player at a press conference.
Pirlo has already played for the "Inter" club from 1998 to 2001.
