The announcement of R. Koeman's resignation from the position of head coach of the Netherlands national team was made on Wednesday – the day after the debacle against the Moroccan national team.

The "flying Dutchmen," playing unattractive football, drew 1:1 during regular time and extra time with the Moroccan national team, but were less accurate in the penalty shootout.

This was R. Koeman's second term with the Netherlands national team. The first was from 2018 to 2020, and the specialist returned to this position in January 2023.

The best achievement during this period was a semifinal finish at the 2024 European Championship.
