Lithuanian football player Rimantė Jonušaitė successfully concluded the 2024–2025 season in Switzerland – in the last "Axa Women’s Super League” match, her team, Geneva "Servette FCCF,” confidently defeated "FC Aarau Frauen” 4:0, with the Lithuanian scoring the closing – fourth – goal.
The match, held under the gentle spring sun at the Trois-Chêne stadium, became a real celebration for both the team and the fans. Although the last weeks had been emotionally challenging for the Geneva club, and the season had been changeable and full of challenges, the "Servette FCCF” players wanted to say goodbye to their fans on a positive note. And they succeeded beautifully.
The first goal was scored by Imane Saoud, who quickly utilized the edge of the field and misled the defenders. Paula Serrano doubled the lead before halftime with a flawless shot from a distance. Although the pace slowed in the second half, the end of the match shone once again: Lazaro scored the third goal, and it was Rimantė Jonušaitė who secured everything by taking advantage of a chance created by her team and accurately sending the ball into the net in the last seconds of the match.
This goal not only solidified a crushing victory but also became a symbolic chord of the season – Rimantė once again proved her importance to the team. This is not the first time the Lithuanian has distinguished herself in important matches – throughout the season, she consistently demonstrated her value both on and off the field.
Although "Servette FCCF” finished the season in fifth place in the standings, the victory against "Aarau” became a positive end to the season for both the team and the fans. The club thanked its supporters for their loyal support throughout the season, and Rimantė Jonušaitė, who scored the closing goal in the last match, is now returning to Lithuania. At the end of this month, she will join the Lithuanian women's national football team’s training camp, where they are preparing for the upcoming matches against the Azerbaijan national women's team.
