Ronald Araujo did not shine in the Champions League semifinal return match.

The Uruguayan, who replaced Inigo Martinez in the match against Inter, stepped onto the field at the end of the second half. After that, Barcelona conceded two goals and was eliminated from the Champions League. He and other defenders of the Catalan club made mistakes in defense at crucial moments.

After the match, R. Araujo notably pointed out the mistake made by right-back Gerardo Martinez during the third equalizing goal by Inter.

"Gerard (Martinez) didn’t show up when the equalizing goal was scored. He was late in fighting for the ball and made a mistake.

In any case, that's not an excuse. We must keep our heads up and keep moving forward,” R. Araujo justified himself in response to the excuses.
