R. Amorim: "Everton deserved the victory" © AP

"Manchester United" had a great opportunity on Monday to climb into the top four of the English Premier League, but at home, they lost 0:1 to Everton, who played with one less player from the 13th minute.

After the match, Man Utd coach Rubén Amorim did not hide his disappointment and acknowledged that the opponents simply deserved the victory.

"I didn’t like our start to the game, and then we just didn’t understand how to play with a numerical advantage. Everton deserved the win."

We misjudged the situations, and there is not much to say about the quality in front of the opponents’ goal. When we don’t play with the right intensity, we simply can’t win.

I am very disappointed with such a performance at home. We knew very well how other clubs performed over the weekend and had the opportunity to rise. It is very frustrating that we approached the game with the wrong mindset.

We didn't play well and didn’t understand what we wanted from this match. That is what worries me the most. In recent weeks everyone has been saying that we are finally on the right track, but I kept repeating that we are not even close to what we truly want.

I am very afraid that everything will not end up like last season. We have to keep working and show better results," said R. Amorim after the painful defeat.
