Bruce extended his contract with Sunderland

The club extended the contract with head coach Steve Bruce until the summer of 2014. The 50-year-old specialist took over the team in 2009 and currently holds a high seventh place in the English championship.

"I am very pleased," said Bruce. "It's a great team in every sense."

"Sunderland" has not finished in the top ten of the Premier League in the last ten years.
