Panevėžys – a step away from a great start in the Conference League

"Panevėžys" was very close to a perfect start in the Conference League qualifying round.

In the second qualifying round match, the team from Aukštaitija drew 1:1 with the "Tobol" team.

In the 45th minute, after a corner, there was a scramble in the "Tobol" penalty area. Nauris Petkevičius nudged the ball with his heel towards Seydina Keita, who scored past the visiting team's goalkeeper Danila Ustimenko on the second attempt.

In the 60th minute, Askhata Tagybergen missed a penalty kick. The shot was saved by Vytautas Černiauskas.

Nemanja Cavnić equalized in the 84th minute and secured a draw for the visitors.

The return match will take place exactly one week later in Kazakhstan.
