The Spanish police are determined to clip the wings of counterfeit football jersey distributors.

As reported by various portals, the Spanish, in cooperation with international agencies, confiscated more than 16 tons of clothing in various cities across the country.

During the operation, 95 people were arrested, and over 66,000 counterfeit jerseys and complete kits were found.

The production was intended to be sold for 2 million euros, but the economic damage is estimated at 7 million euros.

The criminals were keen to profit during the ongoing World Cup.
