Žalgiris fell to TransINVEST

The last match of the 14th TOPLYGA round took place in Galinė village, where the home team triumphed in their fortress. Vilnius district's "TransINVEST" narrowly defeated Vilnius "Žalgiris" with a score of 1:0 (1:0).

In the first 15 minutes, Carlos Olsesas interrupted a dangerous pass from Mykola Musolitin, the guests responded with a threatening shot over the goal executed by Klaudijus Upstas, and in the 17th minute, Jehor Gluščak made an attempt next to the goal area.

The "Žalgiris" fire had to be extinguished in the 35th minute when Saba Mamacašvili made a strong pass towards Liviu Antal, the way to the goal was blocked by Ričardas Šveikauskas. In the next attack, Xabi Auzmendi created an impressive episode, who, being far from the goal, maneuvered past C. Olsesas and led his team forward.

J. Gluščak also had his chance at the end of the first half; this time the Ukrainian hit the outside of the goal net, later X. Auzmendi failed to break through C. Olsesas' guarded goal. In the 59th minute, a penalty was missed by Stefan Milošević – after S. Mamacašvili's foul in the penalty area, the Montenegrin stood at the 11-meter mark but hit the ball against the crossbar.

Deividas Šešplaukas created a wonderful opportunity for a teammate, however, Nikola Petković failed to utilize one of the best chances in the match. In the 78th minute, Bryanas Teixeira prepared a quick attack, the ball flew into the goal frame.

In the 87th minute, M. Musolitin, breaking through on the right side, found S. Milošević, the forward sent the ball with his head from a good position but failed to send it into the net.

After the 14th TOPLYGA round, "TransINVEST" rose to 2nd place in the tournament table with 25 points, while "Žalgiris", having 19 points, ranks fifth.
