Construction of the Šiauliai Football and Rugby Arena: the city will fight for millions of euros

Šiaulių football fans will have to wait for the grand opening of the sports facility.

Portal lrt.lt journalist Gintaras Šiuparys writes that municipal representatives will have to postpone the joys of the rapidly growing arena's opening and tread the paths of the courts over the almost 3.6 million euros in European aid being withdrawn.

Šiaulių City Municipality Administration Director Antanas Bartulis stated that the city will sue the Central Project Management Agency regarding the decision to impose a deduction of 3.575 million euros.

The penalty was imposed because the contractor performing the construction work for the Šiaulių football and rugby arena provided an inadequate guarantee.
