The Iranian football federation faces a dilemma.

The Iranians threaten to boycott the upcoming World Cup, but they are held back not only by the reluctance to lose their hard-fought ticket to the prestigious sporting event.

The Iranian national team, which began the protest, would lose a guaranteed payment of 10.5 million US dollars.

In addition, the team would also face a financial penalty.

The Iranians would have to pay 321 thousand US dollars, and if they announced the decision less than 30 days before the tournament – a fine of 642 thousand US dollars.
