As the Iranian national team threatens to withdraw from the World Cup, the most realistic contenders that could replace Amir Ghalenoei's team in the tournament emerge.

ESPN reports that FIFA is looking at two teams – Iraq and the United Arab Emirates.

However, a surprising decision may be made at the last minute, and a ticket may be awarded to one of the "Inter Confederations" tournament teams.

The World Cup will take place from June 11 to July 19 of this year.
