Former Bayern Munich and German national team midfielder Lothar Matthaus commented on Lennart Karlo's words about the desire to move to Real Madrid in the future:
"L. Karlo's words? I think he is quite open and not arrogant.
I think it’s great when a player has confidence in himself at the age of 17. Pursuing goals is not related to arrogance. The Madrid team just has some kind of mystique."
Bavarians are in a similar position, but they always want to try something new in life. You can't say you'll stay in this team for your whole life, like Thomas Muller – that is a unique example."
"This shows L. Karlo's ambitions and self-belief. He knows he has to perform excellently at a German club just to be on Real's radar. I would have liked to play there during my career as well."
64-year-old Lothar Matthaus played for Bayern and Inter Milan during his career.
17-year-old Lennart Karlo scored 6 goals in 21 matches this season.
