Liverpool's "Everton" managed to overcome "Manchester United" with a score of 1:0 in an away match on Monday, despite playing with one less player starting from the 13th minute.

Everton's midfielder Idrissa Gueye received a red card, but the situation itself is highly unusual and virtually never occurs in top-level championships.

The Senegalese player clashed with his teammate Michael Keane in the penalty area and struck him in the facial area. This action was noticed by the match referee, who showed the Everton player a red card.

Some football fans were surprised that a red card could be given for a conflict with a teammate; however, the IFAB football rules state that for violent actions against any official match personnel (opponent, teammate, referee, or any other club representative), players are expelled from the field.

Moreover, this situation could have ended even more sadly for the Everton team. According to football rules, if I. Gueye had committed this action in his penalty area while the ball was in play, then "Man Utd" would not only gain a numerical advantage but also have the right to take a penalty kick.
