Last summer, the "Liverpool" club experienced a tragedy when team player Diogo Jota died in an accident along with his brother.
About the former teammate, Scotland national team captain Andy Robertson spoke after an important victory last week, and before Saturday's match against "Nottingham Forest," "Liverpool" coach Arne Slot also mentioned the Portuguese player.
"I saw Robertson's interview and I understand that we are all struggling to cope with this loss. That is completely normal.
I think we will never forget and cannot do so because Diogo was not only an amazing player but also a person. It is very difficult to comprehend how much his loss affects our team and results.
I certainly do not want to use that as an excuse because I do not even realize how much this loss has impacted all of us. I can only say that we really miss Jota both as a player and as a personality.
However, I cannot say what impact this has on our results. We will never use that as an excuse because that would be unfair," said A. Slot.
