Ukraine, Sweden, and Poland compete for the sole ticket to the World Championship

On Thursday, the draw for the additional stage of the 2026 World Cup qualifying in the European zone will take place.

Sixteen teams will compete for the four additional spots in the championship, divided into four qualifying tournaments.

Italy will face Northern Ireland in the semifinal, and the winning team will meet Wales or Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Some of the most intrigue is expected in the second tournament, where Ukraine will contest Sweden in the semifinal, and the winning teams will face Poland or Albania.

In the third tournament, Turkey will battle Romania in the semifinal, while Slovakia will clash with Kosovo.

In the final tournament, the draw has matched Denmark with North Macedonia and the Czech Republic with Ireland.

Only the four tournament winners will qualify for the World Cup.
