Free agent Oriol Romeu returns to his former club.

As reported by journalist Gerard Romero, the Spaniard will play for the Southampton team.

The midfielder is set to undergo a medical checkup soon and sign the contract.

The contract will be valid until next summer, with an option to extend for another year.

Last season, O. Romeu was loaned to the Girona team, where he played 31 matches.

A couple of seasons ago, the Spaniard played for the Barcelona team, appearing in 37 matches. He terminated his contract with the Catalan team at the end of this summer.

34-year-old Oriol Romeu played for Southampton from 2015 to 2023, scoring 8 goals in 256 matches.
