In England – a clash over the lack of 'Boxing Day' matches

"Boxing Day" or the second day of Christmas will not be the same as always for at least one year.

According to The Times newspaper, this year, due to scheduling nuances, there will be only one match played in the English Premier League on Boxing Day.

Over the years, we have grown accustomed to 7, 8, 9, or even 10 matches on that day, but now we will witness just one festive football spectacle.

During the festive period, three rounds should still take place as usual, but on the second day of Christmas, we will enjoy only one match.

The Premier League has agreed with broadcasters to play 33 rounds over the weekend, and this year the second day of Christmas will fall on a Friday.
