Marcus Rashford moved to Barcelona on a loan basis from Manchester United last summer and has looked very solid in the Catalan team so far.

The 27-year-old Englishman has scored five goals and provided six assists in 12 matches.

Ahead of the upcoming first "El Clasico" of the season, M. Rashford revealed that this past summer was not the first time he had spoken with Barca.

"I spent a lot of time in one place. It seems that people sometimes forget that I spent 23 years of my life at Manchester United and probably it was time for something new. I can say that I enjoy being here."

I always say that things in life happen the way they are meant to happen. This was not the first time I spoke with Barca. For various reasons, this transfer did not happen in the past, but this time I really wanted to take advantage of the opportunity," M. Rashford said while speaking to ESPN.

The Englishman also added that after this season he would still like to defend Barca's honor.

"I would definitely like to stay here. Barca is a very important club for anyone who cares even a little about football and its history. It is an honor for me to be part of this club," M. Rashford added.
