Manchester United defender Matthijs de Ligt stated that he is currently at the peak of his career:

I feel that I am returning to my best form again, I think even better than before.

I believe that as a defender, when you are around 29, 30, or 31 years old, you are in your best form.

I am currently 26 years old.

26-year-old Matthijs de Ligt has played nine matches this season.
