Will there be interesting adjustments in the national stadium project? © naresta

The company "Hanner," implementing the national stadium project, has decided to make certain corrections.

As reported by journalist Linas Jocius from the portal "delfi.lt," basketball fans may soon hear interesting news.

It is said that the arena planned to be built next to the stadium may accommodate not 5,000, but 8,000 viewers.

However, this news has outraged Vilnius City Council member Aleksandras Nemunaitis, who wrote on social media:

"Benkunskas and 'Hanner' are trying to deceive everyone again. And again regarding the National Stadium project. Read the news - the arena is no longer planned for 5,500, but for 8,000 seats (I learn about this again from the media). Why? Because the concessionaire (I remind you - it's not the city, but a business) will earn not only from building these facilities but also from operating them for 22 years and renting (including to the city) at market prices.

Yes, even if the city has already paid for all the infrastructure, Hanner will still be profiting from all of us for two more decades. Now they are trying to further increase their project's profitability. With whose money? With all of our money."
