Former legendary Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas commented on the beautiful gesture that football star Lionel Messi dedicated to him in 2019:

"In 2019, I had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital. The next day I received a call from an unknown number. I answered and it was L. Messi on the line.

He greeted me and informed me that he got my phone number from Gerard Piqué. He wished me a speedy recovery. The Argentine sent me a bouquet of flowers and hoped that I would like it.

I was very surprised by such human kindness from Lionel Messi. He didn’t have to call me. We weren’t friends before that.”
