With a result of 3:0, the Green Cape won its last qualifying match against Eswatini and will play in the World Cup for the first time.

The goals in this match were scored by Willy Semedo, Stopira, and Dailonas Rocha Livramento. The latter is one of the most notable names of this national team, playing for the "Casa Pia" club, which is in the top league of Portugal.

Other players include Kevin Lenini ("Krasnodar"), Roberto Lopes ("Shamrock Rovers"), Jamiro Monteiro ("PEC Zwolle"), team captain and all-time top scorer of the national team Ryan Mendes ("Igdir").

This will be the second smallest country by population participating in the World Cup after Iceland.
