Manchester United club midfielder Bruno Fernandes commented on his decision not to go to Saudi Arabia:

I did not close the door to Saudi Arabia due to the upcoming World Cup – it was never on my mind.

I just wanted to stay with my team and the team itself wanted me to stay here. That's it.

31-year-old Bruno Fernandes has scored 2 goals in seven matches this season.

He hopes to compete with the Portugal national team in next year's World Cup.
