"Barcelona" team's star Lamine Yamali took second place in the "Ballon d'Or" awards, falling behind the best football player in the world, Ousmane Dembele.

Truth be told, the 18-year-old Spaniard was awarded the best young player in the world.

It was precisely his young age that prevented L. Yamali from winning the main award, believes La Liga president Javier Tebas.

"If Yamali were older, he would have won the 'Ballon d'Or'. I am convinced of that, but since he is still very young, the organizers simply gave him another award," ESPN quotes J. Tebas.
