Knights and Suduva shared points

Another match of the 21st round of the "TOPsport A League" took place in Marijampolė, where the local team hosted guests from the capital. The match ended without any goals – Marijampolė's "Sūduva" and Vilnius' "Riteriai" finished the duel in a 0:0 draw.

In the 7th minute, after a pass from Vukasin Bulatovic, Meinardas Mikulėnas made a great run into the penalty area but shot wide of the goal. However, in the first half, both teams' goalkeepers had little work to do – not a single shot was on target.

At the beginning of the second half, the game was intensified by debutant Arvydas Novikov, who came on as a substitute and received the ball from M. Mikulėnas, but failed to score, greatly aided by Žygimantas Baltrūnas. In the 62nd minute, Amaras Haidara shot with his left foot from a quite sharp angle, and the ball flew past the goalpost; Sidy Sanokho also made an inaccurate shot.

In the final minutes, the Sūduva players had both set-piece situations and opportunities in the air, however, they failed to convert them into goals as the Vilnius team displayed stubborn defense.

After the match of the 21st round of the "TOPsport A League," "Riteriai" earned an important point, bringing their total to 14, while "Sūduva," with 38 points, remains in second place in the league table.
