Montenegro club faces devastating UEFA penalty for match-fixing.

When UEFA hears about match-fixing, it never jokes.

It has been officially announced that the European football organization has imposed a very strict penalty on the offending Montenegrin club.

The team "Arsenal" from Tivat received a ten-year ban from participating in UEFA-organized tournaments, and the club will also have to pay a fine of 500 thousand euros.

Montenegrins will also be banned from participating in tournaments on other continents – this will be handled by FIFA representatives.

Two club members – a player and an official – have been given lifetime UEFA disqualifications. Other footballers or individuals face penalties ranging from 6 to 10 years.

The fixed match took place in 2023 when in the UEFA Conference League return match, the Montenegrins lost at home 1:6 to the Armenian team "Alashkert."

The first leg in Armenia ended 1:1, so the huge difference in the second match raised UEFA's suspicions once again.
