Last week, the sports world was shaken by a tragedy when Liverpool forward Diogo Jota died on a road in Spain, which is becoming increasingly surrounded by controversial information.

Just a few days ago, local police announced that the tragedy involving the star was caused by excessive speed and a blown tire.

It was claimed that this was the reason the Portuguese lost control of the Lamborghini, which suffered a horrific crash.

However, the Daily Mail found a witness to the incident who provided different information.

A truck driver named Jose Azevedo, who was driving nearby at the time of the accident, stated:

"I filmed everything, then stopped and tried to help. Unfortunately, there was nothing I could do."

"I can swear that the player's car was not speeding. I saw him. I drive here every day and know how the road is. Useless," said the Spaniard.

A similar version was held by another truck driver found by Marca, who clarified that the Lamborghini that overtook him was going at an "average speed" earlier.

According to the English press, Spanish officials clinging to the speeding theory are trying to divert attention from the extremely poor condition of the road, which often claims lives.
