Tempted by easy money, Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye could seriously harm his career.

Corriere dello Sport reports that the 25-year-old African has become involved in a match-fixing scandal.

The Nigerian is suspected of intentionally receiving a yellow card in last year's match against Lazio, thereby helping criminals obtain a 120,000 euros payout from a betting company.

Investigators have determined that M. Okoye, along with three other individuals, coordinated a scheme in which a local pizzeria owner played a significant role by placing a bet and guaranteed winning a bet marked with a coefficient of 8.

If the player's guilt is proven, he faces a four-year ban.
