In Group C, Lisbon's Benfica team defeated the previously strong-performing Munich's Bayern team 1:0.

The only goal of the match came in the 13th minute when A. Schjelderup shined.

The Portuguese team, having won, took first place in the group, leaving the Bundesliga representatives behind.
