Longtime "Barcelona” goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen is nervously watching the events unfolding behind him.
"Sport” reports that the 32-year-old German was unpleasantly surprised by the Catalan club's intentions to quietly hatch a plan to send him to another club.
According to the press, "Barcelona” is soon expected to reinforce with "Espanyol” goalkeeper Joan Garcia, after which they will pressure M. ter Stegen to leave for another team.
This would be prompted by the "La Liga” champions' desire to save on the German's huge salary.
However, M. ter Stegen does not want to give up easily and intends to fight for his place in the squad and to earn a salary greater than 6 million euros a year for another three years.
Meanwhile, "Barca” hopes that the athlete, dreaming of playing in the German national team during the 2026 World Cup, will not want to spend a year on the bench and will ultimately decide to leave.
