According to Forbes, the 40-year-old Portuguese is by far the highest-paid athlete in the world.

Last year, the veteran amassed a total of 275 million USD from his salary and other sources.

C. Ronaldo left NBA star Stephen Curry (156 million) and boxer Tyson Fury (146 million) behind him.

Also in the top five are American football star Dak Prescott (137 million) and soccer player Lionel Messi (135 million).
