The Portuguese had to work hard in the World Cup qualifying match against the Irish team.

Their illustrious players, playing at home, only managed to break the fighting opponents with a stubborn 1:0.

In the 75th minute, Portuguese leader Cristiano Ronaldo had a golden opportunity to put the hosts ahead, but he missed the 11-meter penalty.

However, in the 90+1 minute, Ruben Neves managed to secure the victory for Roberto Martinez's team. The precise shot by the Portuguese decided to honor the compatriot Diogo Jota, who tragically passed away this year, and displayed a tattoo dedicated to him.
