Panevėžys handed Riteriai their fourth consecutive loss

Another round of the 12th "TOPsport A League" took place in Panevėžys, where the local team clashed with guests from the capital. "Panevėžys," which secured its second consecutive victory of the year, decisively won with a score of 3:0 (2:0), leaving no hope for Vilnius "Riteriai."

In the 19th minute, Faustas Steponavičius sent the ball over the goal post, and shortly after, Pavle Radunovičius found himself in front of the goal, but his shot, after a deflection, flew just past the rectangle.

The first goal into the Vilnius net came in the 39th minute – Laurito Krasniqi's initial header attempt was brilliantly stopped by Artiomas Šankinas; however, Ernestas Veliulis sent the ball to L. Krasniqi at the edge, and he scored from close range. But that wasn't everything in the first half – A. Šankinas attempted to intercept a pass but failed to catch the ball, and Salomonas Kouadio sent the deflected ball into the net.

In the 59th minute, Lazaras Sajčičius shot low from a distance, which did not cause significant problems for Vytautas Černiauskas. In the 68th minute, the advantage could have increased after a Kwadwo Asamoah pass, but Elivelto Ribeiro Dantas did not reach the ball, and Andrius Kaulinis responded with a dangerous shot that, after a deflection, went into the outer side of the goal net.

In the 85th minute, the final point could have been set by Ariagneris Smith, who came on as a substitute, but this time A. Šankinas played confidently. However, during added time, Rokas Stanulevičius committed a foul in his own penalty area, and A. Smith, standing by the 11-meter mark, did not miss this time.

After playing 12 matches in the "TOPsport A League," "Panevėžys" climbed to the 6th position with 17 points, while "Riteriai," with 10 points, sit in ninth place.
