Well-known English journalist Piers Morgan took it upon himself to defend Portugal national team striker Cristiano Ronaldo.

This week, the player lost his temper during a World Cup qualifying match against Ireland and was sent off the field for hitting an opponent.

According to P. Morgan, C. Ronaldo was trying to break free from the opponent's grip and therefore struck the Irish player.

Moreover, the journalist stated that in the MLS league, Miami "Inter" striker Lionel Messi is allowed to flail his elbows and the Argentine receives no punishment.
