Manchester City's head coach Pep Guardiola did not hide his sadness about Phil Foden's form and identified the reason for last season's struggles:

I am the first person who will be happy for P. Foden. He smiles at every training session and can be productive.

This is one of the reasons we struggled last season, as we really missed this Englishman. In the final attacking phase, creativity, and work ethic, we greatly missed Phil Foden. He is a great player.

25-year-old Phil Foden has been with Manchester City since 2017 and has scored 100 goals in 320 matches.

Last season, the winger scored 13 times in 49 matches.
