Before the break, the players from Šiauliai had several good opportunities to take the lead, but they only managed to do so in the 42nd minute when Eligijus Jankauskas, who bypassed Danielis Alemao in the penalty area, sent the ball into the net.

The Alytus team responded with a penalty kick from Ernesto Stočkūnas – this was saved by Gustas Baliutavičius. The Dainava players' actions significantly diminished in the middle of the second half, as Juozas Lubas received a second yellow card.

Taking advantage of this, the FA "Šiauliai" team scored two more goals. In the first episode, Vytas Gašpuitis found the net, and the final touch was added by another central defender – Nojus Stankevičius, who broke free into the attack.
