Barcelona club goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen will be unavailable to help his team for a while.

The German released a statement confirming that he will undergo surgery and will spend three months away from football.

Barca officially added another goalkeeper, Joan Garcia, a month ago, and extended Wojciech Szczesny's contract two weeks ago.

33-year-old Marc-André Ter Stegen has been playing for Barcelona since 2014 and has played 422 matches.

Almost the entire last season, the German missed due to injury.
