M. Owen: "England should take three forwards to the World Cup" © ZUMAPRESS.com

Legendary England "Premier" league forward Michael Owen revealed that two other forwards should join Harry Kane for the upcoming World Cup:

"I would take H. Kane and the other two forwards to the tournament. After all, there will be moments during the championship when the English will need to score a goal.

Ollie Watkins successfully did this during the European Championship when he made an impact after coming on as a substitute."

"You need to have options in case H. Kane gets injured.

If the "Three Lions" team would have only one forward and with five minutes remaining the score is level or we are trailing, it would not be good to have to bring on a player from another position in that spot.

Personally, I would invite three well-known forwards. There are still many games left to play.

Among such players are Ollie Watkins, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and Danny Welbeck – those are the options. A lot will depend on form and the remaining part of the season.

46-year-old Michael Owen played for the England team from 1998 to 2008 and scored 40 goals in 89 matches.

In the group stage, the England team will face Croatia, Ghana, and Panama.
