M. Burba before the match against 'Žalgiris': 'There will be a lot of motivation'

On the first day of Easter, the first match of the TOP LEAGUE season awaits in Vilnius between Vilnius "Žalgiris" and "Kauno Žalgiris".

The long-awaited match sees the teams approaching from different positions. The defending champion "Kauno Žalgiris" marches on without losses and is the sole leader of the league, while the capital city club occupies the fourth position, trailing by 6 points.

Before the match, footballer Motiejus Burba shared his thoughts with Žalgiris.lt, who, like Joris Moutachy and Joris Aliukonis, moved from Vilnius "Žalgiris" to the ranks of "Kauno Žalgiris" during the offseason.

"There will be a lot of motivation; I spent many years in Vilnius. We are ready, and I believe there will be a good fight on the field,” M. Burba stated.

When asked about his former team, the Žalgiris player said that the Vilnius team has maintained a similar playing style as last year.

"We know it will be an enjoyable match; the atmosphere will be great. We are working hard and will analyze the opponents. This is a fun team that has changed quite a few players, but the team's character remains the same. Everything will be seen on the field,” the Lithuania national team's midfielder shared in an interview before the match.

The seventh round of the TOP LEAGUE matches in Vilnius on April 5 at FK "Žalgiris" home stadium will start at 18:45, and the match will be broadcast live on BTV.
