The London "Arsenal" club was defeated 1:2 by Southampton in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup.

After the match, the "Gunners" head coach Mikel Arteta commented on the elimination and the reasons for the loss:

"We conceded the first goal in a way that is very unusual for us, and the second one was a bit different.

We didn't handle long passes well enough. We were simply letting balls go past us.

It's hard to explain, but we must give credit to our opponents."

"We dominated the penalty area and around it. We had two good chances and should have taken them.

But if you make defensive mistakes like we did against Southampton, it's very hard to reach the semifinals."

The "Arsenal" club lost to Manchester City in the final of the Carabao Cup two weeks ago.

They have two tournaments left: the Champions League and the English Premier League.
